At Solace & Sanctuary, I offer professional counselling within a calm, nature-based setting, supporting children, adolescents and adults to build emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful connection.

“Safety is not the absence of threat; it is the presence of connection.”
Stephen W. Porges

As a Registered Counsellor and Equine-Assisted Therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to explore experience, strengthen internal resources, and foster greater capacity for choice, agency, and wellbeing.

My practice is integrative and relational, grounded in:
  • Person-centred counselling principles

  • Trauma-aware and attachment-informed practice

  • Nervous system and regulation-informed strategies

  • Strengths-based and goal-oriented support

Sessions may include talk-based therapy, mindfulness, creative expression, body-aware practices, and
where appropriate, guided interactions with horses and other animals.

Equine-assisted sessions are ground-based and incorporate counselling principles to support emotional awareness, boundaries, and relational confidence. These sessions are tailored to individual goals and suitability.

I work with individuals experiencing:
  • Anxiety, stress, and emotional overwhelm

  • Identity and life transition challenges

  • Relational difficulties

  • Impacts of stress or adversity

  • Regulation and behavioural challenges

  • Grief and loss

  • Neurodivergent support needs

If concerns fall outside the scope of counselling practice, appropriate referrals or collaborative support will be discussed.

What to Expect
  • A respectful, non-judgemental therapeutic space

  • Clear professional boundaries

  • Collaborative goal setting

  • Flexible, individualised support

  • Ethical practice aligned with professional standards

Sessions may take place indoors, outdoors, or alongside members of our counselling herd, depending on therapeutic goals and client preference. Telehealth sessions are also available.

Acknowledgment of Country

Solace and Sanctuary would like to acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia’s First People and Traditional Custodians. We value their cultures, identities, and their continuing connection to country, waters, kin, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, recognizing their profound connection to country and their role as the first true storytellers and waymakers, living in harmony with nature.

We specifically acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we work, the Quandamooka People, and we extend our respects to First Nations culture and peoples, including their Elders past, present, and emerging. We recognize their ongoing connection to land, waters, and culture, and we honor the invaluable contributions they make to our community.

At Solace and Sanctuary, we are committed to making a positive impact on the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people by providing services that are welcoming, safe, culturally appropriate, and inclusive.

Solace and Sanctuary is committed to embracing diversity and eliminating all forms of discrimination in the provision of health services. We welcome all people irrespective of ethnicity, lifestyle choice, faith, sexual orientation and gender identity.
